USAGE Two main groups of bacteria perform biological filtration: 1. Ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) Examples: Nitrosomonas o Convert ammonia (NH₃/NH₄⁺) → nitrite (NO₂⁻) o Ammonia is highly toxic to fish. 2. Nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) Examples: Nitrobacter, Nitrospira o Convert nitrite (NO₂⁻) → nitrate (NO₃⁻) o Nitrate is much less toxic and is removed through water changes or plants. Together, they make your aquarium “cycled.” DIRECTIONS One sachet of powder for every 20 us gallons (100 L) of water. Add it close to the high flow area, or when you’re cleaning the filter, make sure to add it to the filter where the media is located. Do not overdose.
